Prime Trust organizes farewell dinner for the MSW interns from the MAR AUGUSTHINOSE college Ramapuram , Kerela
MSW interns Mr. Hari Krishnan VJ, Ms. Nayana Vijayan and Ms. Aneetta Biju did their internship at Prime Trust from 10/09/2022 to 10/10/2022. They were actively involved in all the activities of Prime Trust. On 08/10/2022 a farewell dinner was organized for the interns at Janani home. The founder of Prime Trust Mr. SM Arasu thanked the interns for their active involvement and their contribution in the activities of Prime Trust. The interns were felicitated with by a shawl and mementos were given. The interns thanked the founder and shared about their learning experiences in Prime Trust. The Program Manager Mrs. Mary Slessor shared her experience of guiding the interns. The secretary Mrs. Nathali Raja, trustee Mr. Siva kumar, Mr. Mahimai - dalit solidarity staff, Ms. Uma – accountant and the Janani home girls and staff were also present. It was a good time of get together.

Skill Development Program for the evening school children at Muthialpet
On October 8, 2022 Prime Trust along with the fly high India team conducted a skill development program for the evening school children at Muthialpet. One member from the team took a session on time management and importance of saving money, a dental student from the team taught the children the various steps in washing their hands. Group activities like making paper boats in groups were done. The children participated with much interest. 19 children were benefitted through this program. The Program Manager Mrs. Mary Slessor, the evening school teacher Mrs. Bhavani and the three MSW interns from the MAR AUGUSTHINOSE college Ramapuram , Kerela organised the program.

Ayudha Puja is a part of the Navratri festival (Nine nights), a Hindu festival that is traditionally celebrated in India.
Ayudha Puja is a part of the Navratri festival (Nine nights), a Hindu festival that is traditionally celebrated in India. It may be translated to “worship of Instruments”. On the tenth day of the Dasara festival, weapons and tools are worshipped. The Puja is considered a meaningful custom, which focuses specific attention to one’s profession and its related tools and connotes that a divine force is working behind it to perform well and for getting the proper reward.
On 03.10.2022 Monday Ayudha Puja was celebrated by the staff of Prime Trust at Sishubhavan ( Muthialpet), Janani home( Colas Nagar) and Prime trust office ( Rainbow Nagar). In all the three places puja’s were done with lighting the lamp, offering aarti, flowers, sweet pongal and chick pea to the deity. The participants were given sweet pongal and chick pea.
A special program was organized in Prime Trust. It started with the prayer song and continued by welcome speech. The Prime Trust Founder and Chairman Mr. SM Arasu gave a short speech on the various experiences of Prime Trust for the past 20 years. He reminded and thanked all the staff members who had worked in Prime Trust in those years. Mr. Fredy, the founder’s son and trustee shared about how Prime Trust had played a very important role throughout his life. The Janani home children, the evening school children and the MSW interns from MAR AUGUSTHINOSE college Ramapuram , Kerela performed dances. The staffs were given gifts. The program ended with the vote of thanks.

On 28.09.2022 the three MSW interns from the MAR AUGUSTHINOSE college Ramapuram , Kerela and Mrs. Mary Slessor, Program Manager from Prime Trust visited the Akshaya Punnagai Pookkal Self Help Group members at Muthialpet. The women were shown two videos on women empowerment. There was an interaction session about how the SHG has helped the women and their families. Each member shared about how they have utilized the Rs. 20,000/- loan that they received from Prime Trust. It was a good opportunity for the interns to interact with the women by going to their community. The women responded well and also watched the videos with much interest. The videos have given them a positive outlook of their lives and they have realized the capability of economic productiveness within them.

free eye screening camp
Prime Trust, in association with Jothi Eye Care
Hospital conducted a free Eye Screening Camp
A free eye screening camp was conducted at the Prime Trust office, Rainbow Nagar for the public by Prime Trust in collaboration with the Jothi Eye Care Hospital on 30th September 2022. Wide publicity was made to the local community about the opportunity.
Eye screening was done on children, men and women. For further treatment such as cataract surgery and other ophthalmic issues they were referred to the Jothi Eye Care Hospital. The medical team informed the community about the central government schemes available to the public. The local community was also informed about the special offers from the hospital extended through this camp.
People of different ages were benefitted through the camp. The arrangements were made by
Mrs. Mary, Program Manager, Mrs. Nathali, Secretary and the Interns of MAR AUGUSTHINOSE college Ramapuram , Kerela .
