A privileged visit to the Kattunayakan tribe community at Neyveli
A privileged visit to the Kattunayakan tribe community at Neyveli
The Kattunayakan tribe is an indigenous community primarily found in the southern part of India, particularly in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. They are considered one of the scheduled tribes in India, which means they are officially recognized as historically disadvantaged communities that require special attention and support for their development.
The Kattunayakan people have traditionally lived in forested regions and have been dependent on hunting, gathering, and forest-based livelihoods. Over time, as forest areas have been subject to conservation efforts and development projects, the traditional lifestyle of the Kattunayakan tribe has been impacted.
On 29.07.2023 the Prime Trust Founder and Managing Director Mr. S.M. Arasu visited and interacted with the people of the Kattunayakan tribe. Sparingly used clothes were distributed to the people. Prime trust is planning to start an evening school for the children in the community.

Free dental camp at Meliruppu village, Cuddalore district
Prime Trust and the Vel dental team organized a meaningful initiative by conducting a free dental camp in Meliruppu village, located in the Cuddalore district on 29.07.2023. Dental camps like these are crucial in providing much-needed healthcare services to underserved communities and promoting dental hygiene.
During the camp, dentists and healthcare professionals provided dental check-ups, basic treatments, oral health education, and distributed necessary supplies like toothbrushes and toothpaste to the villagers. This outreach significantly improved the oral health of the community and raised awareness about the importance of dental care. Such initiatives play a vital role in improving the overall health and quality of life of the community members.

Celebration of birth anniversary of late K. Kamaraj, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu
Celebration of birth anniversary of late K. Kamaraj,
former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu
On the birth anniversary of Kamraj on 15th July 2023, the Evening School in Rainbow Nagar celebrated the life of this great leader. During the celebration, a student from the evening school delivered a short speech about Kamraj's remarkable contributions.
Kamraj was born on 15th July 1903 in a town called Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, to Kumaraswamy Nadar and Sivagami Ammal. Throughout his life, he actively participated in significant movements such as the Non-Cooperation Movement and Nagpur Flag Satyagraha. In 1954, he assumed the role of Chief Minister of Madras State, which is known as Tamil Nadu today.
One of his most notable initiatives was the introduction of the innovative concept of mid-day meals in schools, providing free meals to children from economically disadvantaged families. Thanks to his efforts, the number of schools in Tamil Nadu increased significantly. Due to his profound impact on education, he is affectionately referred to as 'KalviThanthai,' which translates to 'Father of Education' in Tamil.
Kamraj passed away on 2nd October 1975, at the age of 72, in Chennai.

Health checkup for the children at Sishubhavan Play School on 23/06/2023
A health checkup was done for the children at Sishubhavan play school by Ms. Pakiashree, a volunteer from the Indira Gandhi Medical College, Puducherry on 23/06/2023. Having regular health checkups is essential to ensure well-being and early detection of any potential health issues in children. Volunteers play a crucial role in community health initiatives and their efforts are invaluable in promoting a healthy and caring environment for the children. The children’s pulse rate, oxygen level, arm circumference, height, weight, and body temperature were checked. The children cooperated well for the checkup.
