Children’s Parliament in Anandapuram Village, Puducherry The Children’s Parliament is a group of children of a particular village/ neighborhood who come together as a group for activities, learning, and to represent their interests and opinion to the decision makers of the village/neighborhood. The formation of Children’s Parliament has been done with the following objective; “Equipping children with the basic concept of the Children’s Parliament provide an opportunity to learn ‘life skills’ for example, about their rights, health, and education as a result they become aware and contribute in decision making process of administrative system through their life skills learning.” On 02.03.2023 a children’s parliament was formed in Anandapuram village, Puducherry. The MSW interns from Alagappa University, Karaikudi facilitated a discussion among the members of the Children’s Parliament. The different needs of the village were discussed by the children. The following children were selected as the following. Gokul – President, Bala – Secretary, Elamaran - Treasurer, DivyaShree – Vice President, Rohith – Joint Secretary.
